I was in Mumbai last weekend for the launch of the new OPPO F1s – Selfie Expert. The hospitality extended by OPPO & their partners was wonderful. And I had a wonderful stay at JW Marriott, Mumbai for two days.
Here are some pictures from the Gala evening. Mr. Sky Li – OPPO Global VP presented Yuvraj Singh with a Cheque of 40L rupees – Sweet!! YouWeCan.com an initiative taken by Yuvraj Singh foundation to fight against cancer by creating awareness about cancer, its prevention & raising funds. I am happy to see Multi national companies doing their bit.. Dabboo Ratnani showcased some really cool selfies, and launched the nationwide selfie campaign – which gives you an opportunity to win a Photoshoot by the maestro himself (More Details of the contest – HERE) & an OPPO phone for yourself! Sonam Kapoor – was quite a show stopper 🙂 and did pose for the press photographers. Everyone goes back happy 😀
Getting my hands-on the Phone, two things excited me the most – 16MP camera & the ‘selfie’ capabilities. Being a photographer, I am mostly behind the camera, but seeing Dabboo Ratnani’s vacation selfies surely inspired me to take the phone out for a spin.
First up, the specifications :
5.5 inch 2.5D curved TFT Display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4
ColorOS 3.0 build on top of Android 5.1
32GB onboard storage, which supports expansion up to 128GB via a MicroSD card. (woohoo!)
13MP Rear Camera with a F/2.2 aperture capable of 1080p HD videos at 30fps. (WOW)
Front Camera is a 16MP and F/2.0 (The usual)
2 Dual SIM Nano slots onboard the Oppo F1S.
Available in – Gold, Rose Gold, Grey colors
What surprised me the most:
- The fingerprint Sensor – unlocks the Phone in about 0.22 secs (Shame on you, iPhone)
- The MSRP of Rs.17,990 is unbelievable (I am going to stop buying Apples), with the amount of features this phone has, I quite expected it to be close to 20-24k. This would probably be a very big deciding factor for people looking to buy the latest android smartphone, with the camera being the Most Valuable point of comparison after the price. Looks like #oppof1s has cracked the indian market 🙂
- The selfies are indeed nice & clean. The in-camera software is doing a great job at editing and making us look a few years younger atleast. I think that’s enough reason for everyone to quickly get your own Oppo anti-ageing-potion.
- Lock-screen Magazines. Love it!
The Verdict : A Good Buy!

Here are some pictures – Comparing the OPPO F1s with two popular phones — the Apple iPhone 6 & the Samsung Galaxy A8 – in slightly complex lighting conditions. I will leave it up to you to pick your favourite, but for me – there’s a clear winner!

This is quite informative I was inclined towards buying a Samsung. But after reading your article – I am wondering should I buy this phone – since I love to take selfies.
My budget is about 20k
Hey Divya, Glad you found the post informative.
For under-20k It’s worth buying the OPPO F1s any day!
Thanks Ramit for the recommendation. I bought my F1s OPPO phone and am completely in love with the camera. And like you said – I am also enjoying the lock screen magazine that it has.
That’s awesome Divya 😀 🙂
Happy to Help!

How’s the oppo f1s ? And what are the features you like most ?… 🙂
Hi… Yes Oppo F1 is a selfie expert however not a phone..Bought oppo F1 a month back and now its not working. Not detecting any network. Visited service center hardly 4 in mumbai confirmed that its a common motherboard issue and they don’t have the hardware to replace as there is some “audit” going on. I am really fed up with the kind of service and product Oppo is providing… Just used a month “a month” . What kind of brand is this. Met with other customers also having the same problem and shouting at customer care executives….
Overall not a worthy product. Waste of money. Hope to get some positive response from the company…Till then will keep posting my review in social websites for OPPO …
